curves/straights & bean shapes/ovals

this is from a warm-up pose, but i kinda like it.  the class starts with a 30 min warm-up.  it's like free draw, usually 2-3 min poses....we can use any and all the techniques we've learned thus far.  usually these drawings start out kinda bad and then it gets better - that's why it's warm-up!  and a lot of times i run out of time in the beginning and have to remember to draw faster!

then we added straights to the curves:

bean shapes & ovals are one of my favorites.  it allowed me to do my proportions, angles and placements much better.  we use one for the chest, and one for the pelvic area.  the 4th one down is my fave.
